PAMPERS, POUSSETTES, PLYWOOD AND PLASTIC
Routine: 1. A regular course of procedure.
2. A boring state or situation in which things are always done the same way.
The daily routine, both longed for and dreaded in equal parts. That early morning cup of coffee, the glance out the window to see what the day might bring, calls, emails, appointments, .......
Repetiton: The act of repeated action, performance or production.
Whether it is the same boulder problem over and over, countless intervals or simply changing a diaper there is a certain pleasure in the familiar. Like the couple of ski runs you know like the back of your hand or the hiking trail out the back door. There are somethings you never grow tired of.

A busy October
Alexandra |
The Exam started with a mellow day sport climbing at some chossy limestone crag while we waited for the red rock to dry out after 2 days of torrential rain. The next 4 days we climbed long moderate routes finishing with the area classic Epinephrine. I would like to thank everyone at the AMGA camp for making my trip possible with minimal gear and expenditure.
I flew back to Stockholm the 19th, expecting a new baby girl. I didn't have to wait long, the night of the 21st Anna and I caught a taxi to the local hospital and 24 hrs. later little Alexandra was born.
Quite the experience, hard to put it in words. I just feel very fortunate.

VALLEE d'AOSTA, PILASTRO LOMASTI
Gorgeously textured stone towering above medieval sanctuaries, forgotten hamlets and winding stone tracks.
Once again I had the pleasure of venturing back in time, in search of the classic Italian experience.
In every direction, evidence of mankind's enduring quest to tame the land.

T SHIRT WEATHER |
A late start from the Montenvers train had us hustling across down across the glacier and up the exposed ladders of the balcon mer de glace trail. We arrived at the base of the route Le Joyau et le Lotus just as a party of three was roping up, they graciously let us pass and up we went.

Aiguille du Midi, voie Mazeaud
The S. face of the Aiguille du Midi is a wonderland of alpine granite. The classics put up by the likes of Gaston Rebuffat, Andre Contamine, Rene Desmaison in the late 50's and 60's dominate the SE side of the pillar. Continuing with the testpieces of the 80's established by Romain Vogler, Michel Piola and co. Routes like Ma Dalton, Super Dupont, Le fou de l'aiguille and Le Dame du lac breach the vertiginous dihedrals and roofs of the SW aspect. All accessible by a 30 min. cable car ride and either a quick walk to the base or by numerous rappels. The S. face is as close as it gets to a world class local crag here in Chamonix.
